It’s all in the Words with your Save the Date Stationery

Good manners are important. You will no doubt have been told this by your mum, dad, grandma and teachers throughout your childhood and teen years. I was always brought up to say please and thank you, and I’ve advanced this dedication to good manners into a career that I enjoy hugely.

A picture is worth a thousand words

Words don’t always have to be spoken. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words and at Origami Fox, we are firm believers that our design speaks entire monologues. The beauty of your wedding stationery is that it can say exactly what you want it to, and the power of words is so important within your design. Think about the deluge of emotions that those three little words can conjure up … no not “I love you” but rather “save the date”!

With your wedding stationery, words take on their own meaning. Your stationery speaks from the hearts of every single couple and shows that you have made an effort to appreciate those people who make an effort to come to your wedding by taking the time to design the perfect stationery to say please come to my wedding, thank you for coming and all the fun stuff in between.

Your Save the Date stationery

I love the idea of using your ‘save the date’ as a teaser for your day where three little words – the magic words – are those which will set the scene for your celebrations. In the same way that you and your future husband/wife will work together to make a successful marriage, design and words work together in their own special relationship. When I sit down with every couple to talk about what they want from their wedding stationery, design ideas unfold naturally and this helps to create the way that you want to convey your save the date. The words fit the design and also take on their own meaning.

Just the Ticket

If you’re having a destination wedding, you may want the location and all it represents to take centre stage with your save the date to really build that sense of anticipation and nudge the sense of wanderlust. Your destination will also likely provide plenty of inspiration for the colour, font and style of your Save the Date stationery. Designs emblazoned on a postcard style works great for destination weddings and you can enhance the theme with luggage tag or flight ticket style stationery. These are the perfect save the dates to prop on the mantelpiece for your guests to show off that they are going to a destination wedding.

The ticket design works great for all types of wedding – a cinema or theatre ticket save the date for the couple who love a bit of culture. A theme that is growing more popular by the day is Charlie & the Chocolate Factory – this gives so many fantasy type stationery designs to play with, not least the golden ticket to make for a save the date that’s full of fun and games. Speaking of wonderful themes, Origami Fox recently took part in an Alice in Wonderland styled shoot – click here to check out our creativity in full swing.

Themes and Magic

For a festival-themed wedding, your save the date may be designed like a flyer. Bookworms may enjoy a library card, book cover or bookmark style design. Our Penguin Book range proves especially popular with couples who love to read and for those who have a particular book that is special to them. As you can see, the opportunities are endless and it’s so much fun to explore with every couple to work out the perfect design style to introduce your wedding. I’m expanding the Origami Fox range in 2018, and looking forward to welcoming lots more wonderful modern, creative and quirky stationery personalised for every awesome couple that I work with.
